Itinerary
Today we will start our sahara desert tour from Fez to Merzouga, our expert driver will pick you up from your Hotel or a meeting point. Leave Fez behind and head towards Merzouga crossing the Middel Atlas Mountains and its cedar forest, we will drive through towns such as Imozzar-kander and Ifrane which called Switzerland of Morocco. We will have a break for a cup of coffee or tea, enjoying the French architecture. The Barbary macaque’s home is just 15 KM away from the city, you will have a chance to see them by the road in the middle of the cedar trees. On our way to Medilt we will see some nomad camps who make a leaving from raising sheep and goats, the lunch stop will be in Medilt or in one of those villages. Next, it will be the time to cross High Atlas Mountains and drive along Ziz valley the mean source of palm dates in the country with its stunning palm gloves, this valley goes around Errachidia the nearest province to the boarders of Morocco and Algeria then Erfoud which receives the international dates meeting with an exposition of local products and agriculture machines. Now we will be half an hour away from Merzouga where we will take the oldest transportation people ever use, talking about Dune cruiser. We will go for one-and-a-half-hour camel riding with a beautiful sunset break on the way to the Camp, before the check in a mint tea will be served for hospitality as we always do in Moroccan culture, a surprise is waiting for you after getting your dinner done.
We are up early to take in the amazing sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After a tasty breakfast, we will get into the adventure of life, it will be the time of dunes bashing crossing back to Merzouga town and meet your driver. We will drive through a town which has the most important market in Sahara Desert, then we will be in Erfoud again and could pull over to see one of those Fossils workshops. Next we will be hitting the road back to Fez and the drop-off there will be around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m to mark the conclusion of our journey and fascinating adventure.
