Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Dades Valley

Your desert adventure begins in Marrakech. After breakfast, we leave the vibrant Red City behind and head toward the High Atlas Mountains. We cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters), stopping along the way for panoramic views, photos, and small Berber villages built into the mountainsides.

As the landscapes change from green valleys to rocky plateaus, we continue toward Dades Valley, also known as the Rose Valley. Here, dramatic red cliffs meet lush oases and winding roads.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara Desert +

After breakfast, we continue toward the impressive Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs rise over 300 meters high. Enjoy a peaceful walk through the canyon and take in the natural beauty. We then travel through Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and desert scenery, before reaching Merzouga.

In the late afternoon, your camel trek begins across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, the desert transforms into a sea of warm colors.

At your Sahara desert camp, enjoy mint tea, a traditional dinner, Berber music around the fire, and a night under a sky full of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate +

Wake early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise, one of the most unforgettable moments of the journey. After breakfast, we depart the desert and travel through Alnif and the vast desert plains toward the lush Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, lined with thousands of palm trees and ancient kasbahs.

We pass through the Anti-Atlas Mountains before arriving in Ouarzazate, known for its film studios and desert landscapes.

Dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable riad or a Hotel.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech +

After breakfast, we visit the legendary Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages. This ancient ksar has appeared in famous films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Walk through its narrow alleyways and discover centuries of history built in traditional earthen clay architecture.

We then return to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 4 Day Sahara Desert adventure with Navigate Morocco.
